  1. Kasper says:

Who made the song playing in the intro, and what is it called?

And as to why people might stop listening to the show, your boring discussions about True Blood might scare people off ;-)

All in all a solid show though guys. You’re a good trio, and your Big Brother segment just keeps getting better and better. Keep expanding upon it!

  2. Dave says:

It’s going to be hard to expand as the numbers get smaller and we get to people we know next to nothing about.

And believe me, we’ve talked about shit WAY more boring than True Blood before.

  3. Andrea says:

At least our talk of True Blood didn’t go on forever like Maryann’s story arc. Thanks for listening Kasper!

  4. James says:

Opening track was “One Above One” by Vitalic

  5. Goon says:

I thank you for notifying me that Vitalic had new stuff out. That song ‘quacks’ the way Ginuwine’s pony ‘burps’

  6. Grundy says:

I just can’t get into True Blood, but I like the theme a lot and it allowed me to see both Lizzy Caplan and Anna Paquin’s boobs, so there is that.

  7. Goon says:

still hate Community, James? I havent caught anything other than the pilot, which I thought was alright. the AV Club, SA goons, Greg, every other person I’ve heard who has watched it, loves it…

  8. James says:

Yes. Yet I still watch it. Hmmm…

I said on the Blendcast they should just put a flat-screen monitor behind McHale’s left shoulder during the show and let him rip on people at the end of every scene. Then, it might be watchable.

Bored to Death, Jason Schwartzman’s new show on HBO, also awful.

  9. Chris says:

So what ever happened to Dave’s re-designed eGamer site? What about having a games column on The Rot?

  10. Dave says:

“So what ever happened to Dave’s re-designed eGamer site?”

Those bastards at Bitwik are still holding the domain hostage!

  11. Dave says:

    Re: Games column on Filmrot.

Focus group testing has shown that Filmrot readers and Rotcast listeners tend to gloss over and tune out when I start talking about the following items:

    1) Libertarian ideology.
    2) Peak oil.
    3) Video and computer games.

Since that composes at least 33% of my rhetoric, a games column here would be largely ignored. The sad thing is I enjoy talking and having discussions about those three things FAR MORE than I enjoy talking about movies and shows. This is why it tends to spill out on The Rotcast. But no one but me gives a shit (on this site that is).

  12. Goon says:

anyways like James and Dave, I can get freaked out by horror movies despite not believing in this stuff otherwise. That’s because with a movie you’re buying into the world this person creates, and it unlocks different things for you to think of.

I mean, I don’t believe in ghosts, but I’m way more scared of ghosts and aliens than I am of hell. It’s because paranormal stuff operates outside the ‘rules’ we’ve created for them in media, for all our lack of experiences I can never know when something will just pop out of nowhere, or some bizarre occurance will happen that in fear I would not be able to explain and thus consider a ‘ghost story’. I’ve actually had a few experiences in the past I talked about as if they were ghost stories that I now consider a result of being young and/or wanting to attach unexplainable things to some theory. I kind of regret talking about things as such now, but again, young. stupid.

  13. Dave says:

“it unlocks different things for you to think of.” Kind of like achievements. Also, ending a sentence with a preposition makes Ghost Baby Jesus cry.

  14. Kasper says:

So when’s the next episode due? It’s been two weeks! We need to know what’s happening in the big brotha house.

  15. Dave says:

In times like these Twitter can be your friend.

  16. Andrea says:

Sorry for the delay for a new show, but I had to go visit my family in Texas and the guys were kind enough to wait for me to get back. Thanks guys =)

  17. Goon says:

    “romanian atheist chick”

aka Crazy Hot Atheist Chick in the atheist online community. Ha I know who you mean, she’s awesome. Call it though, on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you think she is consciously going out of her way to look sexy, with the way she’s seating herself, letting her hair hang, etc. Considering the amount of editing and craft in the videos, I have to go with the full 10/10

  18. Goon says:

I also enjoy Glee, last weeks ep in particular has been the funniest. Everything out of Jane Lynch’s mouth is fantastic. The redhead who loves the lead adult who looks like Kirk Cameron sometimes is cute as hell. The show is uneven as a whole and I doubt I’d pick up the DVDs, but it’s good entertainment and stands out very well amongst other network TV.

  19. Goon says:

Paranormal Activity opens at my local theater tomorrow, and its NOT just midnight showings, its on all day. And guess what? I aint seeing it! I will declare now I’m probably too scared, at least to see it alone, because nobody will go with me.

  20. Dave says:

“Paranormal Activity opens at my local theater tomorrow, and its NOT just midnight showings”

This podcast was recorded about three weeks ago, mkay? The release scheduling has changed a lot since then with the film going wide.

  21. Goon says:

I’m trying to figure out why you took that as some ‘nyah nyah you’re wrong’ thing.

  22. Dave says:

Probably because at the time we recorded this we made mention of there being only midnight showings of the film, at least here in Orlando. Since there’s been no new podcast since then, I figured you were continuing to make comments about the show. I was merely pointing out that at this point it’s old news.

  23. Goon says:

I suppose. In the meantime, I’m preparing for the possibility of being the only one in the OFC circle I travel in who thought Where the Wild Things Are pretty much sucked.

  24. Dave says:

Maybe. We may or may not be seeing it this week-end but since our latest show was taped last night, we won’t be talking about it for at least a week. Also, from what I’ve read, you’re not the only one.

  25. Goon says:

I just read what Josh Tyler had to say over on their boards as well as the Twitch review, and they pretty much had the same points I’d make. What’s immediately obnoxious and why I’m probably going to end up getting more aggressively against the film, is the people who like it and really attacking those that don’t in the way Twilight fans lose their shit around haters. They’re also pulling the trick of saying you “didn’t get it”.. But as Josh said: “the allegory is so thick and obvious you can swim through it.”

  26. Dave says:

Oh man, Josh is either going to love this site or hate my guts even more when Ep 54 is posted. Keep in mind the only quote blurb on the cover of Herr Boll’s opus In The Name of the The King is attributed to one Josh Tyler,

I stopped reading Devin’s review of the movie after the first sentence, which had the word “masterpiece” in it. That dude’s head is lighter than a UFO balloon.

  27. Goon says:

Well Kurt thought it was a perfect movie, so I’m going to have at least one battle to fight at R3. Sometimes a movie turns me into a little angry bitch, WTWTA is that movie right now, even though there’s way more to like about it than most other movies I dislike. Let’s put it this way – there are some movies that people decided way in advance that they loved or hated, and nothing was going to wedge them from that stance. Ie Campea hating GI Joe, or loving Transformers. Even District 9, which I love, has this going on in its favor. I’m betting the Road and Fantastic Mr. Fox are the next movies to have this happening. I think WTWTA is among those movies, which means among the film discussions I’ll be left wondering how much opinion is honest and how much is obligation in order to save face. This is the nature of the online film community and the way we hype things.
