I wouldn’t say I was all up in his Snyder’s ass, I was defending him but not really in a hyperbolic fanboy type of way.
And yeah, that wasn’t me mentioned the Snyder rewriting thing. I did mention other writers were brought in.

The dog scene is the gun shop one, I believe in Gunn’s script, the girl never stole the truck to get the dog. I think originally the zombies were suppose to amass into such a large number they would have been able to make it onto the roof and then spill through the skylight, which is how the zombies would have gotten into the mall. As for the Andy, I’m not sure how that would have played, I know there were zombie dogs involved though.

Yeah, the sex scene from Bloodrayne is all I’ve seen from that movie.
Modern Family was really surprisingly funny, and to tie it in the the Dawn of the Dead stuff Ty Burrell who plays the “cool dad” in it was Steve Marcus in Dawn, and is probably the funniest character on the show.
Finally, just to be a dick again, Crimewave was between The Evil Dead and Evil Dead II.

^ lol
Gunn’s scene probably exceeded the budget, so I get why it was changed. He didn’t seem to care about it either.

“Bad movies that are “awesome bad””
I have a list a mile long that should probably begin (and perhaps end) with The Room. Instead I’ll throw this one out there: The Other Sister. Have you dared?

Family Guy is truly horrid. Finally someone who has seen the light!
Another great episode guys, keep ‘em coming.

I still watch Family Guy because I’ll usually find at least something I’ll like. I definitely will take it any day of the week over South Park, which gets more and more embarrassingly awful every year. But I suppose that failure couldn’t come fast enough for a Grade A douchebag like Trey Parker.

re: 80s and “faggot” – oh yeah man its everywhere. From Eddie Murphy’s standup to Bill & Ted to Teen Wolf.
“You’re not gonna tell me yer a FAG, are you?”
“No no no no Styles, I’m not a FAG, I’m a wolf! I’m a magical creature!”*

re: shooting in Canada
Vancouver and Toronto generally make good stand-ins for a lot of cities and bring in movie companies even when the dollar is good, the city is relatively accomodating and in the case of BSG they also went to it for so much of the woods locations. a LOT of the BSG cast is canadian, and Michael Hogan (Tigh) sounds the most stereotypically Canadian.
A for the dollar in general, our economic recovery is going a quicker because of the way our banking system is regulated/structured here. That’s why the dollar has been nearing parity again, but ironically a high dollar is not the greatest for us here at all times. for a person like me who does a lot of freelance work in the states, i can gain a lot from it in the exchange when the CDN dollar is weak. but meanwhile a lot of people who rely on shipping to the states/exporting dont like the dollar here being too high. Economics is a bitch goddess I guess.

^if anything is wrong or rambling I blame it on my girlfriend making me catch up on how drunk she currently is.

Also, Whedon has and is using a number of BSG vets on Dollhouse. In addition to Helo (Tamoh Penikett) as a regular, Jamie Bamber (Apollo) appeared in one episode and Michael Hogan in another. Hogan was playing an American but damn if his Canadian accent didn’t creep in on some words. Also, Mark Sheppard, who played Gaius’ lawyer in season 3, appeared in a recurring guest spot.
If Whedon can get Katee Sackhoff and Grace Park he’ll have collected the main pilot crew. A part of me would like to see Grace Park beat the shit out of Tamoh Penikett. She could play a rogue doll from one of the other houses or something. Hopefully Sackhoff’s role on 24 is not a season’s worth and Whedeon can get her on before Fox officially pulls the plug, if they haven’t already. Some of us are playing Dollhouse/BSG bingo. When I said some I meant me and when I said playing I meant I just made it up.
Goon - Posted on 03/11/09 @ 8:34am
Is Tamoh’s character as much as a douche as Helo?
Dave - Posted on 03/11/09 @ 9:59am
For the most part, yes.
Goon - Posted on 05/11/09 @ 7:28pm
James, are you still watching Community and/or Parks and Recreation? I’ve heard P&R has gotten significantly better since its rocky beginnings.
James - Posted on 06/11/09 @ 6:12pm
Yes on Community, begrudgingly. The Halloween episode was a step in the right direction, but overall I’m not impressed.
Gave up on P&R 3 episodes in. Amy Poehler just isn’t my style, I guess. It would take quite the groundswell of support for me to give it another try.
Goon - Posted on 07/11/09 @ 7:33pm
i’m always open to people saying it has turned itself around… i mean 30 Rock started off with kind of middling reviews, and we all know how bad the first episode of the Office was.
Andrea - Posted on 08/11/09 @ 11:00pm
Getting ready to catch up with one of my favorite shows Castle. For me this show keeps getting better every time.
Bill the cat is staring at the keyboard and my fingers because I woke him up with my typing. There maybe blood on my keys after this post….lol
