Looks pretty much like the concept photo from awhile back.

  2. Dave says:

Well, I saw it this morning, and while it’s really good, it’s not worthy of the hyperbole it’s getting from the net. It’s a little too long but the performances are solid all the way around.

Will say that if you can see it in IMAX, by all means spend the extra money.

  3. Grundy says:

Yeah, I already say Hellboy II is my film of the summer without even seeing The Dark Knight. I know that just annoys some people.

  4. Dave says:

Seeing that in about an hour and a half, and I fully expect to enjoy it in a completely different way. Maybe if you go in TDK looking at it as a crime movie more than just a comic book one, you might have a different perspective.

Either way, you and I have done this dance of “differing opinions” before. Believe it or not I’m a lot more inclined to let your pre-judgement slide these days than, say, last summer. ;)

Also, for the record, while I’m still not completely on board the Zach Snyder train, the trailer for Watchmen was fan-fucking-tastic.

  5. Grundy says:

With The Dark Knight, I know I’m getting an overlong depressing, dour film. Add to the fact that I’ve been reading Nolan still can’t shoot a fight scene. I’m sure it’s going to very good, I just loved Hellboy II so much, I really couldn’t find too many flaws to it. I’m del Toro’s bitch, much the same way I’m Edgar Wright’s.

Also, if Watchmen ends up sucking, it sure as hell won’t be for a lack of trying.

  6. Tower says:

I just got back from an advance screening on IMAX! I’d have to say that I was very impressed, even with all the hype. I’d say more, but I’m tired as hell. It was almost a two-hour drive to the screening :O
