Romero has abandoned his LAND OF THE DEAD sequel plan, and gone on to make a new, independently produced zombi film. Unfortunately, the first-person, “BLAIR WITCH” camera route has already been taken this year with the AICN-dry-humpfest CLOVERFIELD. Still, I have faith in the ZOG (Zombie OG) and am eagerly awaiting hobbling my way down to the nearest theater when this hits my area. Thoughts? Click here for trailer!
It’s a Romero zombie movie, so I’m there.
I like to think Cloverfield was more than just a movie Moriarty and Harry shot their powdery goo all over. . . .okay, I need to go shower now. . .for the rest of my life.
@Dave
I actually enjoyed CLOVERFIELD, just was being a bit of a bastard
Just saw this film this afternoon. Won’t give too much opinion about it other than it was hard to be massively disappointed when my expectations weren’t high to being with. Brought up some interesting themes but for the most part didn’t know what kind of movie it wanted to be.
You know how this site is like a zombie that won’t stay dead? Yeah, there’s something else FilmRot related that also won’t stay dead and should be chomping it’s way around sooner than later.
Thanks Dave, hope I’m not disappointed with it. But it was less of a wait than with LAND.
BTW, don’t get that last sentence. Clue???
Clue: A foul-mouthed snarky bastard with a porn name opened one of these things in 2006.
Guess I’ve been away much longer than I thought. I’m still clueless!
Keep in mind I’m being intentionally vague. Here’s another one:
In the first one of these, it was pointed out that the Fantastic Four should not have been so surprised at their arch-rival’s actions because he had the word “Doom” in his name.
Lulz, I’m betting “RotCast”, but then again, I’m a little slow.
Well I think it’s pretty clear that I’m not doing another 100 Days writing project.
Yah…Diary was balls. I’m thinking Romero might want to retire before pulling a George Lucas.
It’s hard to pull a Lucas when you actually have some modicum of talent.
Holy Crap I’m glad FilmRot’s back!
But you see, some people thought Lucas had talent before Phantom Menace. THX-1138, American Graffiti, Star Wars… You have to remember that Romero also handled The Dark Half, Bruiser, and OJ Simpson: Juice on the Loose, but people have thankfully forgotten about those.
Here I was being a smart ass and you had to go and say that.
I bet you were the kid that snitched on all the goofballs in class, amiright?
And here I thought “The Juice is Loose” was kinda funny….
Well, you also left out Season of the Witch, which was by far one of the most boring films I ever saw as a child. I still refuse to believe that a Romero directed Resident Evil would have sucked more than than the P W S A one does.
I liked Monkey Shines, there I said it.
I liked Bruiser, (ducks).
What’s not to like about Monkey Shines? It had Cripple Sex in it!
